In this article, you will be reviewing the steps on how to change the DHCP IP address to Static IP address on your Ingenico Link2500 Wi-Fi card reader.
- To connect the reader to your Wi-Fi signal, press 0001 to get into the "Admin Menu".
- Select “WIFI Parameters”.
- If Wi-Fi is not enabled select "Enable" (by using the Green button).
- Select "Scan Networks".
- Select your access point’s SSID from the list provided list. (your Wi-Fi signal name)
- Enter your network’s Wi-Fi password then press the "green" enter key.
- Now, under this ‘WIFI Parameters’ screen select ‘Default IP Configuration’.
- Select "DHCP activation".
- Select "Off" then press ‘Enter (Green)’ key.
- Select "IP address".
- First you need to check the current IP assigned to your iPad which you’re going to use with this reader. Static IP address that you’re going to enter on the reader should be same as your iPad but with some different digits at the end (after the last dot) such as "168.1.x" as an example where "x" will be any number which is not in use on the network (you can check your all iPads to make sure that the number that you are going to enter is not in use on them):
- Open the "Settings" on your iPad > "Wi-Fi" > tap on ‘i’ icon next to connected Wi-Fi signal > check the "IP Address" line.
- Enter the static IP into the reader including the dots (make sure that digits after the last dot must be different as mentioned above) then press “Enter (Green)” key. Make sure to remember IP address entered into the reader as we need to enter this number on the POS app that you are going to connect with.
- Select “Subnet mask” on the reader.
- "Subnet mask" must be exactly the same as your iPad’s subnet mask. To check this number, open the "Settings" on your iPad > "Wi-Fi" > tap on "i" icon next to connected Wi-Fi signal > check the "Subnet Mask" line > enter these digits into the reader then press “Enter (Green)” key.
- Press “Cancel (Red)” key once.
- Press “Enter (Green)” key when prompted to save changes.
- Press “Cancel (Red)” key once. The device should reboot.
- Open the SalesVu POS app on your iPad > tap on the "Settings" (gear) icon at the right top > ‘More Settings’
- Enter the IP address that is entered on your Link 2500 device (which is done at step 13) into “Terminal IP” line
- Exit the "Settings" on the POS > reopen the "Settings" on the POS > Select "Card Readers" > Select "Link2500/Lane3000".
- SalesVu Logo will appear on the card reader's screen in a few seconds and it will be ready for payment processing
- Force close and reopen the app if the app doesn't show SalesVu logo after 5 minutes. - Touch home button twice quickly and swipe SalesVu POS app upwards, then reopen it.
