Time-based discounts are discounts that are applied within certain hours of the day. An example would be a "Happy Hour" discount.
Retail Use Cases:
Retail businesses often use time-based discounts to promote products during specific periods to increase sales and customer traffic. Examples include limited-time sales on selected items, weekend or holiday promotions, flash sales during slower shopping hours, or discounts on seasonal and overstocked inventory. Retailers may also use these discounts during special in-store events or peak shopping periods to encourage purchases.
F&B Use Cases:
Food and beverage businesses commonly use time-based discounts to drive traffic during slower hours and increase order volume. Examples include Happy Hour drink or appetizer specials, lunch or early-bird dinner promotions, late-night menu discounts, or weekday specials designed to attract customers during off-peak times. These discounts can also be used to promote specific menu items or combo deals.
