Transferring Inventory to another location

If your business operates across multiple locations, efficiently managing inventory levels between these locations is crucial. SalesVu's Inventory Transfer feature allows you to transfer inventory from one location to another seamlessly. This is particularly useful for restocking purposes or balancing stock levels across your stores.

Conditions for Inventory Transfer

Before you can transfer inventory between locations, ensure that the following conditions are met:

1. Inventory Subscription at Each Location:

   • Each location involved in the transfer must have an active subscription to the Inventory Management feature (SalesVu Cloud Advanced or Premium Bundle).

2. Consistent Product Names:

   • The product names must be identical at each location. This ensures that the system correctly matches products across different locations.

3. Inventory Tracking Enabled:

   • The products you wish to transfer must have inventory tracking enabled. This is set in the product's 'Inventory Setting'.

4. Positive Quantity at Source Location:

   • The source location (the one you are transferring inventory from) must have a positive quantity of the product.

Steps to Transfer Inventory

Follow these steps to transfer inventory from one location to another:

1. Sign in to SalesVu.com

   • Open your web browser and navigate to SalesVu.com.
   • Enter your credentials and click "Login".

2. Navigate to Inventory Transfer

   • Click on the 'Inventory' tab in the left-hand menu.
   • Select 'Inventory Transfer' from the submenu.

3. Select Source and Destination Stores

   • In the 'Inventory Transfer' page, select the 'Source' location (the location you are transferring inventory from).
   • Select the 'Destination Store' (the location you are transferring inventory to).

1. View Eligible Products

   • The system will display a list of products that meet the criteria mentioned above.
   • Only products with the same name at both locations and enabled for inventory tracking will appear.

2. Enter Transfer Amounts

   • For each product you wish to transfer, enter the 'Transfer Amount' in the corresponding field.
   • Ensure that the amount entered does not exceed the available quantity at the source location.

3. Execute the Transfer

   • After entering the transfer amounts, click on 'Transfer' at the top right corner of the screen.
   • A confirmation message will appear indicating that the inventory transfer was successful.

4. Verify Updated Quantities

   • The 'Destination Available QTY' next to each product will update to reflect the new inventory levels.
   • It's recommended to verify the updated quantities at both locations to ensure accuracy.

Viewing Inventory Transfer Reports

SalesVu provides an Inventory Transfer Report that logs all inventory transfer activities between locations. This report helps you track and audit transfers, providing details such as:

• Date and Time of Transfer
• Source and Destination Locations
• Products Transferred
• Quantities Moved
• User Who Performed the Transfer

To access the Inventory Transfer Report:

1. Navigate to Reports

   • Click on the 'Reports' tab in the left-hand menu.

2. Select Inventory Transfer Report

   • Under the inventory reports section, select 'Inventory Transfer Report'.

3. Customize and Export Report

   • Use filters such as date range, locations, or products to narrow down the data.
   • You can export the report in CSV or Excel format for further analysis.
