In the SalesVu platform, you have the flexibility to configure two distinct types of taxes: Local Tax and To be Shipped Tax.
1. Local Tax
Local Tax is designed to accommodate taxes that are imposed within the same jurisdiction as your business location.
2. To be Shipped Tax
The To be Shipped Tax is especially useful for businesses involved in cross-province transactions.
It empowers you to apply accurate taxes based on the destination of shipped products, ensuring compliance with federal and local tax regulations while maintaining precise taxation for cross-province sales.
To create a tax bracket with one of these tax types, follow these steps:
- Log in to SalesVu.com.
- Click on 'Products and Services'.
- Navigate to 'Tax Management'.
- Click 'Add New Tax Bracket'.
- Enter the Tax name and its rate.
- In the 'Tax Type' line, select either 'Local Tax' or 'To be Shipped Tax'. If you chose 'To be Shipped Tax':
- Choose the 'Destination Type' (State/Province, City, Zip code).
- Enter cities, states or zip codes
- Choose the 'Tax Behavior' as either 'Replace Local Tax' or 'Additional to Local Tax'.
Now, you can apply these tax brackets to your items, and the pricing will be calculated based on your chosen delivery method. For instance, if you designate an order to be shipped to a specific province, the tax behavior will accurately calculate the applicable tax based on your Tax Bracket settings.
