Merchants using Square as a payment processor can configure settings for signatures, tips, and tabs through the SalesVu web portal. Follow the steps below to manage these settings:
Steps to Access Tip Settings:
Log in to SalesVu.com
Click your profile menu and select Location Settings.
In the Location Settings, select Tips from the available options.
Tip and Signature Configuration Options:
On App Signature Screen: Enable to accept customer signatures via the app.
Minimum Amount for Signature: Set a threshold so the signature screen only appears for orders above a certain amount.
Allow Tip for Invoice Payment: Enable tips on invoice payments.
Allow Cash Tip Entry on Employee Transfer Screen: Allows cash tips to be included in employee shift reports.
Enable Tip Transfer: Allow tips to be transferred between employees. Please refer to these steps for more information
Enable New Square Preauthorization: Process pre-authorizations with the standard fee without exceeding transaction limits.
Disable Auto Capture on Device: Keep transactions open to adjust tips later; otherwise, they are captured automatically after closing the order.
Set Tip Threshold: Warn employees if the tip exceeds a percentage of the order total to prevent accidental overcharges.

Tip Timing Options: Choose when tips are collected:
None – Disable tips
Before Payment – Tips appear before the customer pays
On Payment Terminal – Tips appear on the Square Terminal
After Payment – Tips appear after the customer pays
Tip Denomination Type: Choose whether tip options are displayed as a fixed amount or a percentage.
Tip Denominations: Set the available tip amounts (e.g., 10%, 15%, 20%). Maximum of four options.
These settings help you control how tips are collected, how signatures are captured, and how employee tip transfers are handled.
