Customers that have the Advanced Bundle can utilize Pre-ordering to help their clients order food, drinks, snacks, and merch from anywhere at any moment; more importantly, this will help you increase your sales.
SalesVu has 3 different pre-ordering solutions:
- Pre-ordering for Pick-up and events
- QR Code On-premise Ordering
- Self-Ordering Kiosk
Pick-up and Events: Customers that will attend the event can pre-order from your website. With Pre-Ordering, you can give your customers the option to order before the event from your website, or in the event with a QR Code.
You can use SalesVu to create it, or if you already have one, you can create a specific shopping page.
Use case: As a customer coming to the next show, I will go to the link the theatre sent me to pre-order my drinks online, so I can avoid waiting in line. Since this is not my first show there, I already have an account, so I can easily complete the transaction without re-typing my information.
I’ll order my drinks to be picked up in the bar that is closest to me. As an organization, you can create designated areas for pickup in case you have more than one station. After selecting the pickup area, I will select the event I’m attending and the hour. This is very important since there could be multiple shows during the day.
After that, I’ll choose my order to be ready for the pre-show. As an organization, you can create multiple time slots for the orders, such as pre-show, intermissions, and post-event, it can be customized to your needs. Finally, I can select the payment method and add discounts, whether with gift cards or credit cards. Then it will show me the tip screen with percentages that can be customized.
Pre-ordering with QR Code and Self-Ordering Kiosk: Customers can utilize a different device, such as their own or the kiosk, to complete the order and avoid long queue lines. Ensure you have enough staff members to bring the orders to your customers during the show on their seats.
We have two steps to follow to set-up Pre Ordering For Events:

Enabling Pre-Ordering Setting
1. Login to salesvu.com
2. Click on "Appointments" from the left-hand menu
3. Click on "Settings" from the top
4. Enable Pre Ordering For Events setting
5. Customize Control the time range for Future Events displayed on the Website for Pre-Orders and
Print Orders Automatically Prior to Event Start Times (in Minutes)
Important Note: Orders will automatically print to a printer(s) and/or display in Incoming App(s). A value of 0 or blank will default to print/display for 30 min. prior
6. You are all set!
Adding Valid Time Slots
1. Login to salesvu.com
2. Click on "Appointments" from the left-hand menu
3. Click on Time Slots from the top
4. Click on "Add Time Slot"
5. Select "Pre-Order for Events"
6. Customize Start/End Time and Enter the Event Name
7. Select Pre-Orders Pickup Availability: You can select whether you want to have pickup availability before the event (Pre-Event, Pre Show), during the event (First Intermission, Second Intermission), or after the event (Post Event, Post Show), or you can have multiple options too.
8. Click on "Save," and You are all set!
Important Note: Once you set up pre-orders for events, the event pre-order time drop-down will show on your website. The customers can select the time to pick up their order.
